About the Author:

Simon Woodward lives in Benfleet in Essex. The Brave Dave stories were created
primarily for his daughters, Molly and Tillie, but after canvassing the thoughts of
other children his daughters' ages it became apparent the characters and the
adventures they have, had a much larger appeal than expected and so the stories went
into print.

Excerpt from the book:

\"Tariq settled down for the evening, happy that his life had got back to normal
after the strange meeting with the feather in a skin-tight yellow Lycra bodysuit; a
feather who had been brought to life after being struck by lightning on Halloween,
just a day or so ago.

Tariq's thoughts turned to the Tortoise Tall Story Talkathon; an event which was
going to take place in about five or six month's time, in the spring. He couldn't
wait to meet up with his friends and tell them about the strange day he'd had. He
was sure they would wonder in disbelief as he told them about the amazingly weird
feather from the sky; a feather that liked to be called Dave.\"
